Default Replacement for "Precious"?

Early today I noticed that there was an update (i noticed this when a new user agreement window came up when i first logged in) and i figured it was somethin small like a nerf or two...or maybe they fixed the zehlehen boss bug or somethin, but i checked and that wasn't it . So I just went out for a little farming, and went to identify a bow and I got:

Now I suppose this is some kind of replacement for "Precious" but I am not sure. Does anyone know anything about this?

Maybe it was to make it clearer, with the addition of 'precious' as an incription type? Can't really think of a useful reason besides that.

Well I guess it's to differentiate between the salvageable inscription and the inherent... maybe it's just another "dumbing down" of the langauge, just like the "While under the effects of an enchantment" change...

Nothing wrong, but...Now we can salvage a low-level weapon's Precious and put it on a high-level but useless item! :P

Only use I can think of.

The new precious "Show me the Money" and salvage "Measure for Measure?" are only in Nightfall. Both highly salvagable and precious are in Factions that i know of.

This is going to make "sell or salv" decisions more of a headache.
  • Do I salv the inscription?
  • Do I salv the whole weapon for materials? (Measure for Measure)
  • Do I just sell the bugger? (Show me the Money!)

I wondered about this too. I thought maybe you got a free pair of socks or something, but I didnt get any, so I thought maybe its bugged
I just dont see any real reason to change from "precious" though, unless theres actually people out there who dont know what that means.

I'm fine with the change. I thought Precious was a little overkill anyway... If they were precious, why would I be selling them to the merchant? =)
